PhotoCraft v0.12.0 release files and SHA-256 checksums

This page is the reference for the files in PhotoCraft's v0.12.0 release: all of them, by platform, with what each file type is, its size and its full SHA-256 as published in the release's SHA256SUMS.txt, and two ways to check that your copy is the official one. To simply get PhotoCraft for your computer, use the PhotoCraft download on the overview page; it picks the right file for you.

Every v0.12.0 file, by platform

Every link below goes straight to the file on the official GitHub release. Sizes and SHA-256 values are copied from that release; the Copy buttons copy the full 64-character value, which you can paste into the checker.

Windows

x64, ARM64 and 32-bit. Installers and executables are code-signed.

macOS

One universal file for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Signed and notarized by Apple.

Linux

x86_64 (most PCs) shown first. ARM64 and RISC-V builds are below. The .zsync files in the release are only update data for AppImageUpdate.

ARM64 (aarch64) files
RISC-V (riscv64) files, need glibc 2.39+

FreeBSD

FreeBSD 14, x86_64. Laid out like /usr/local; see troubleshooting for the packages it needs.

Web

The WebAssembly app, to host yourself on any static server. There is no official hosted version to open in a tab.

Source: v0.12.0 release and its SHA256SUMS.txt, read October 22, 2026. Sizes are shown the way GitHub shows them (1 MB = 1,048,576 bytes). Signing notes from the README.

Versions and community packages

PhotoCraft updates fast: v0.8.2 shipped on October 12, v0.9.0 on October 14, v0.10.0 on October 18, v0.11.1 on October 20 and v0.12.0 on October 21, 2026. If the version number above is older than the one on GitHub, trust GitHub.

Other ways to install. On Gentoo, a community overlay (::snakebyte) packages the Linux release as media-gfx/photocraft-bin; it is listed in the README under Community packages and is not built by the ArtCraft team. To self-host the browser version with Docker, see the official Docker web hosting notes.

Installer, portable, AppImage or Flatpak?

Most systems get more than one file. This is what each one is, from the official README's download tables · README:

SystemFile typeWhat it is
Windows.msiThe installer. Installers and executables are code-signed.
Windows-portable.zipThe same app without installing it: unzip and run.
Windowsx64, arm64, x86x64 is 64-bit Intel/AMD; arm64 is for Snapdragon and other ARM PCs; x86 is 32-bit.
macOS.dmgThe app, one universal build for Apple silicon and Intel. Signed and notarized.
macOSphotocraft-cli-…-macos-universal.zipThe command-line tool only, also signed and notarized.
Linux.AppImageRuns on any distribution; it can update itself with AppImageUpdate (the .zsync files).
Linux.flatpakSandboxed; install with flatpak install --user <file>.
Linux.deb / .rpmPackages for Debian and Ubuntu, or for Fedora, RHEL and openSUSE.
Linux.tar.gzA tarball you unpack anywhere.
FreeBSD.tar.gzx86_64 only. See troubleshooting for the libraries it needs.
Webphotocraft-web-….zipA static site you host yourself. Try our unmodified copy without hosting it.

The README also says the easiest way to install is the PhotoCraft page on getartcraft.com, and that the all-releases page has earlier versions and their notes.

Verify a PhotoCraft file's SHA-256

A file is the official one when its SHA-256 equals the value in SHA256SUMS.txt (the same values as in the list above). Check it in your browser with the tool below, or in a terminal:

SystemCommand
Windowscertutil -hashfile photocraft-0.12.0-windows-x64.msi SHA256, or in PowerShell Get-FileHash photocraft-0.12.0-windows-x64.msi
macOSshasum -a 256 photocraft-0.12.0-macos-universal.dmg
Linuxsha256sum photocraft-0.12.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage

With SHA256SUMS.txt saved in the same folder as your downloads, one command checks them all and skips the files you didn't download: sha256sum -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS.txt on Linux, or shasum -a 256 -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS.txt on macOS. Our testThe macOS command printed OK for the two v0.12.0 files we downloaded, on October 22, 2026.

Check your download (SHA-256)

Pick the file you downloaded. Your browser calculates its SHA-256 locally; the file is not uploaded anywhere. Then paste the matching line from SHA256SUMS.txt on the release page.

What we verified ourselves

On October 22, 2026 we downloaded two v0.12.0 files from the official GitHub release with GitHub's own CLI and checked them on a Mac (Apple M2 Pro, macOS).

Windows or macOS shows a warning when you open the file? See troubleshooting; the developers' advice depends on the warning.

Questions

Where does PhotoCraft publish its SHA-256 checksums?
In SHA256SUMS.txt, a file attached to each GitHub release. GitHub also shows a sha256: value next to every file in the release's asset list. The values on this page are copied from the v0.12.0 SHA256SUMS.txt.
What does it mean if the SHA-256 doesn't match?
The file is not byte for byte the one the developers published: the download broke off, or the file came from somewhere else. Delete it and download it again from the official GitHub release.
Which PhotoCraft version are these files for?
v0.12.0, published on the official GitHub release on October 21, 2026, as we checked on October 22, 2026. Each release has its own files and its own SHA256SUMS.txt, so a checksum from one version never matches a file from another.
What are the .zsync files in the release?
Update data for AppImageUpdate, so a Linux AppImage can update itself. You don't need to download them to install PhotoCraft.
